WELCOME
The BRITISH HELLENIC COLLEGE was founded in 1989. It aims at offering the opportunity of higher education to Greek students who are interested in studying according to British standards, but at the same time wish to stay in Greece. This was achieved in co-operation with the University of Wales, which has validated all the programmmes of study of BRITISH HELLENIC COLLEGE. During 2008 the College has passed successfully the third Quinquennial Review by the University. Nevertheless the College has decided to discontinue its cooperation with the University of Wales starting 2011-12. This means that all students already registered will follow existing schemes and they will graduate with a University of Wales degree while new students will be accepted to study in new Programmes with another University. Today the BRITISH HELLENIC COLLEGE offers 8 undergraduate and 6 postgraduate courses of the University of Wales. Finally, during the year 2006, BRITISH HELLENIC COLLEGE was accredited and recognised by the British Accreditation Council, as an Independent Institution of Higher Education. Besides, since 1995, BRITISH HELLENIC COLLEGE has incorporated the Hellenic Language School “Alexander the Great”, which was established in 1972, as a separate section. In addition, since 1999, the BRITISH HELLENIC COLLEGE has established an Adult Training Centre offering adult training programmes in a variety of subjects. It is to be noted that the College was granted by the Ministry of Education, a foundation license in 2009 and a license to operate as a Post Secondary Educational Centre in 2010. |
